The Peruvian foreign policy emphasizes the multilateral scope as a privileged scenario to discuss important subjects for our country, such as the promotion and strengthening of democracy, the promotion and protection of human rights, the fight against corruption, the promotion of indigenous peoples' rights, the new approaches of hemispheric security, the fight against terrorism and illicit drug trafficking, poverty and the extreme poverty, etc.
Therefore the OAS, the permanent political organization in this continent, has been converted, in recent years, in a dynamic agency with a hemispheric agenda, which coincides with the foreign political priorities set by President Garcia's Government.
